I got a phone call from John a week before Christmas to photograph a surprise proposal in Scottsdale followed by an engagement session. They would be visiting the JW Marriott in Scottsdale from Chicago over Christmas and his soon-to-be fiance, Deek, would have absolutely no idea of John’s plans. John’s sister came along to help make the proposal happen without Deek knowing. The idea was that John and his sister hired me to come in a take some photos of them on their Christmas trip to Scottsdale in an effort to help them remember how much fun they had.
I met up with John a few minutes before hand to nail down a private spot. When he and his sister returned to the spot I introduced myself and started off the shoot with, “why don’t you two [John and Deek] stand here and just turn towards each other while I check my light. Act like you love each other!” From that point, John took over the rest, which turned out so adorable! Deek really had no idea but he was thrilled! YAY!
We spent the next 45 minutes rockin’ out an amazing engagement session in the Scottsdale desert surrounding the JW Marriott. We were even fortunate enough to have a fantastic Arizona sunset. It was the perfect set up for a surprise proposal in Scottsdale and killer engagement session. Enjoy!
